On July 10, 2008, cancer took our founder's life, but she lives on in our clinic's mission.
A low-cost spay/neuter clinic open to the public, the Virginia Kincheloe Spay/Neuter
Clinic is the very first of its kind in the Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, and Stafford, Virginia
area. It is also, we believe, the first to be a
cooperative effort among county government, private
industry, and a charitable animal welfare organization.
This clinic was the lifelong
dream of the late
Has it helped? From March 29, 2000 through 2012, about 50,000 spay/neuter surgeries have been performed at our clinic. We believe the majority of these animals would not have received spaying/neutering service without the
availability of this clinic. As a result, potentially millions of lives have been saved by reducing the population of homeless animals. And we aren't done. Our appointment book has
consistently been filled since before we opened the front door. We can only move forward from here. With greater sponsorship and community support, the Virginia Kincheloe Spay/Neuter Clinic will continue to grow and expand. It is our goal, through sponsorship and grant donations, to one day be able to spay/neuter all feral cats at no charge. We are not there yet, but we are not far away. |
